In October 1769 Captain James Cook arrived in New Zealand on his ship The Endeavour. During the 19th Century many British people sailed the traitorous seas to settle in the islands of New Zealand.

Although New Zealand is very much a multicultural country a majority of kiwis can still trace their ansestoral heritage back to Britain.

Britain and New Zealand remain very close, we share many common things from The Queen to a taste for fish and chips!
