The Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum - Walking into this wonderful museum's cavernous hall that houses a huge Brontosaurus fossil - now supplemented by a life-size, animatronic-type T-Rex - is one of the standout memories of many a childhood, and just a corridor away there's the only slightly less inspiring thrill of the Blue Whale room. These days, regular hands-on exhibitions and a much improved walk-though design have only added to the fun.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ... James and the Giant Peach ... The BFG ... Matilda ... The Witches ... Fantastic Mr Fox ... For over 30 years Roald Dahl's stories have delighted and captured the imaginations of children and are already modern classics.

Roald Dahl lived for much of his working life in Great Missenden near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

Buckinghamshire County Museum in Aylesbury has created an award winning hands-on children's gallery named after Roald Dahl. The Gallery integrates Quentin Blake's wonderfully quirky illustrations, which perfectly complement Dahl's narrative and are known and loved by readers everywhere. It is great fun for all the family and children of all ages.
