Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square in central London is known for its statues and fountains. Most famous is Nelson's Monument, a 172ft column. At the top is a statue of Lord Nelson the victor at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The column is guarded by four huge bronze lions.
In December every year an enormous Christmas Tree is erected in Trafalgar Square, a gift from the people of Norway.
